I first learned of 5NP at a Peer Support retreat for my company, Delta Airlines. Since I am in recovery myself, I volunteered to be a Peer Support employee/mentor. The retreat was at a treatment center in Tennessee. We were administered the 5NP and I was so impressed that I took the training myself in Michigan. Since retiring, I decided to offer the 5NP to friends in recovery and possibly to patients in treatment centers where I live in Akron Ohio the birthplace of Alcoholics Anonymous.  Unfortunately, I learned that it is only possible to offer 5NP in Ohio if one is a medical doctor or licensed acupuncturist. This situation needs to be remedied and 5NP should be available to more patients and people in recovery. Workers in treatment centers and other venues should be able to offer this. Iit is a very valuable, efficient and cost effective treatment.

I am an acupuncturist and have used the five needle acu detox protocol clinically for the last 15 years to help folks suffering from addiction.  I have seen firsthand how it can be beneficial to help calm stress and anxiety, reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms, and help patients be more comfortable in their recovery process.  I hope that this protocol becomes more widely available to help Ohioans struggling with addiction.
